Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Milford, MA is actively recruiting registered nurses for the Emergency Department to provide direct patient care using the nursing process from admission to discharge. The role emphasizes clinical assessment, care coordination and patient discharge planning in a fast-paced setting.

This position requires MA nursing licensure, BLS (and ACLS/PALS/NRP where applicable) with duties aligned to the shift schedule and 32 hours per week on the evening shift.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS through either American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) is a requirement for every RN within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS through American Heart Association (AHA) required in select areas (Gannett, MP1, ICU, ED, Cath Lab, Endo, IR, PACU, Float Pool) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.
• PALS through American Heart Association (AHA) required in select areas (PACU, ED) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.
• NRP Advanced Provider through American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) required in select areas (Maternity) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.
• BSN highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for the delivery and management of patient's care from Admission to Discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population.
• Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluate nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
• Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.
