Job summary

Bradley Hospital is seeking a Residential Care Counselor to provide direct care, supervision, and support to children in a residential treatment setting. You will be a key member of a multidisciplinary team, responsible for developing individualized treatment plans while ensuring a safe, therapeutic environment.

This position requires strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to handle crisis situations effectively. Pay ranges from $18.13 to $29.90 based on experience, with evening shifts.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months of experience working with emotionally or behaviorally challenged youth.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and well-being of assigned children.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized residential care plans.
• Complete initial assessments and treatment plans within 24 hours of admission.
• Review and update care plans regularly based on observations and progress.
• Supervise daily routines and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal hygiene.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of observations and treatment interventions.
• Communicate care plans and updates with multidisciplinary team members.
• Build therapeutic relationships with children and families.
• Respond to behavioral crises using safe, least-restrictive interventions.
• Maintain a structured, supportive, and therapeutic environment.
• Participate in treatment team meetings, shift reports, and program activities.
• Model appropriate behavior and interactions for children and families.
• Support recreational and therapeutic programming.

Position Summary

The Residential Care Counselor provides direct care, supervision, and support to children in a residential treatment setting.
