Job summary

Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs is hiring a Full-Time Registered Nurse 2 for the Washington Veterans Home in Port Orchard, WA. The role runs 2:30 pm–11:00 pm, with on-site work and no telework option.

You will supervise frontline staff and deliver nursing care to residents, contributing to a supportive, homelike environment. The position emphasizes patient care, adherence to procedures, and ongoing professional development, with shift premium opportunities and state-wide

Qualifications

Valid Washington state registered nurse license or unencumbered RN multistate license.
Must be proficient in English and able to read, write, and speak English.
Have at least one year of professional nursing experience.
Possess accurate methods and practices of nursing, restorative care, hygiene, infection control, and resident rights.
Ability to assess, evaluate, develop plans of care, discharge planning, and document nursing procedures.

Responsibilities

Maintain healthcare records following current policies and procedures.
Administer medications and treatments for residents or monitor self-pour medications.
Maintain incident logs and provide feedback to staff.
Encourage residents and staff to meet needs in a respectful environment.
Communicate openly with staff and assist in training materials.
