Job summary

Bay Cove Human Services seeks a Recovery Specialist in Boston to provide direct support to individuals recovering from Substance Use Disorders and collaborate with the team to ensure daily program operations.

The role supports individuals in their recovery journey, working Sunday- Thursday 3pm-11pm, with emphasis on safety, de-escalation, and compassionate care. Bay Cove emphasizes dignity, confidentiality, and trauma-informed practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Six months experience in health and human service-related field preferred.
• Flexibility to work weekends on a scheduled basis and as-needed with notice.
• Demonstrated understanding of federal and state policies (42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA) within one week of hire.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Provide supportive care to meet individuals’ needs and promote dignity and respect.
• Conduct searches of belongings using trauma-informed practices upon admission, at discharge, and as directed by leadership.
• Observe wellbeing of individuals, conduct wellness checks, and document changes per agency protocol.
• Observe and document self-administration of medications per program policies.
• Promote participation in wellness and educational activities; assist in recreational activities with clinical guidance.
• Assist in cleanliness, meal preparation, and room preparation for new admissions.
• Promptly report safety, security, or maintenance issues to program leadership.
• Utilize crisis intervention and overdose prevention techniques as needed.
• Complete shift reports, checklists, and incident reports concisely and timely per policies.
• Attend staff meetings, supervision, and trainings; complete required development.
• Other job-related duties as assigned.
