Job summary

Geisinger Medical Center seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform ionizing radiation procedures for diagnosis and research. You will administer exams, document activities, and ensure patient safety in a clinical hospital environment.

The role supports inpatient and emergency services, requiring ARRT-R registry within 6 months and BLS certification. New graduates must obtain ARRT-R within 6 months of hire. Evening shifts, 40 hours weekly, and on-site work at GMC.

Qualifications

• ARRT-R registry within 6 months of hire.
• Must complete steps required for advancing to level 2 within 24 months for hires after March 10, 2024.
• Graduate from Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology (Required).
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.
• Utilizes appropriate imaging protocol and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety, optimizing patient care, and applying ALARA principles.
• Preparing and/or administering medications through vascular access as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Evaluates images for proper positioning and acceptable quality and verifies data archival/storage.
• Educating and monitoring students and other health care providers.
• Assisting licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiologic procedures.
• Performing diagnostic radiographic and noninterpretive fluoroscopic procedures, including OR, Endoscopy, ICU, etc.
