Job summary

University of Nebraska–Lincoln is seeking a Quick Service Team Leader for Husker Heroes, 3:30pm–12:00am, Sun–Thurs, within Abel Dining’s mobile order concepts. The role guides student workers, ensures accurate and timely orders, and maintains high dining standards.

Responsibilities include supervising shifts, training staff, and addressing customer concerns. This essential position may include weekend, evening, or early morning shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED plus three years of food preparation experience and mastery of all kitchen and dining tasks and attributes; equivalent experience/education considered.
• Ability to read, write, weigh, and measure necessary.
• The ability to communicate is essential.
• Must have the ability to train and lead others.
• Food Handler’s permit or ability to obtain by passing the Safety and Sanitation test required.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service
• Ensure that food quality meets and/or exceeds University Dining’s and franchise standards
• Assign daily tasks and assignments to student workers and staff during their shift
• Oversee work in kitchen, dish room, and/or dining area
• Train student workers and staff on recipes, production processes, and University dining standards
• Perform all tasks in all areas/functions, such as; setting up, closing down stations, food production, restocking, daily food prep, cashiering, taking inventory food waste management, cleaning and monitoring food quality
• Troubleshoot and solve concerns directly with customers as they arise
