Job summary

BD is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead and develop associates on the manufacturing floor, driving safety, quality, productivity, cost control, and BD’s continuous‑improvement culture.

You will coach and mentor staff, develop staffing and training plans, coordinate with Production Planning to meet schedules, and ensure policy compliance and clear, timely communication. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced facility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Preferred: Associate Degree in Business, Industrial Management, or related field.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Applied Science, Industrial Management, Engineering, Human Resources, or related discipline.
• Alternative: three years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Three years of leadership or people management experience.
• Three years of manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a safe work environment by addressing safety concerns and incidents promptly.
• Spend at least 75% of work time on the production floor coaching, mentoring, and supporting associates.
• Develop and execute department staffing, onboarding, and training plans.
• Provide timely, constructive, and specific performance feedback.
• Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous learning.
• Maintain open communication between production associates and leadership.
• Ensure fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures.
• Partner with Human Resources to address employee relations matters when needed.
• Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Production Planning to establish and achieve production schedules.
• Monitor and communicate production metrics, goals, and department performance.
• Oversee daily manufacturing operations and ensure efficient workflow execution.
• Perform additional duties as required to support business objectives.
