Job summary

Rochester Precision Optics is seeking an Electro-Optical Assembler, B-Shift, in West Henrietta, NY. The role focuses on producing high-precision assemblies with strict adherence to instructions, including in-process testing and detailed build records.

New hires will complete 4–6 weeks of A-Shift training before transitioning to B-Shift, with a 5% shift pay differential. The position requires careful attention to detail and teamwork in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a production environment preferred
• IPC J-STD-001 soldering certification is a plus but not required
• GED or High School diploma; vocational education preferred
• Familiar with computers including Microsoft Office
• Ability to follow detailed instructions with high attention to detail
• Able to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
• Good hand-eye coordination and visual acuity
• Team-oriented with ability to read and interpret complex documents

Responsibilities

• Use tools and equipment to produce high precision assemblies or components and meet daily production targets
• May require testing equipment to measure completed work and work in process
• Weigh, label and transfer chemicals and adhesives for use in assembly
• Communicate issues to lead, supervisor or area manager immediately
• Process parts or components on jobs in queue 100% of available time
• Ensure data entry is accurate for each job
• Adhere to quality inspection criteria and in-process checks
• Maintain tooling, machinery and work area daily
• Follow safety precautions and procedures
