Job summary

Rochester Precision Optics is hiring an Optical Assembler in West Henrietta, NY. You will assemble precision optical components and subassemblies, align using microscopes, and inspect parts to ensure quality in a cleanroom setting.

The role requires meticulous attention to detail, steady hands, and the ability to follow detailed instructions and SOPs. Experience with ERP systems and inspection tooling is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 1–3 years in manufacturing, including hands‑on assembly or micro‑assembly.
• Strong manual dexterity and ability to work with small components under magnification.
• Strong attention to detail and process discipline.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assemble precision optical components and mechanical subassemblies to meet daily targets.
• Perform fine alignment using microscopes and laser systems.
• Apply adhesives and bonding agents with controlled volume.
• Install fasteners to exact specifications to maintain alignment.
• Inspect components for defects and maintain traceability in ERP systems.
• Record production data and support continuous improvement initiatives.
