Job summary

Verde Valley Assisted Living in Cottonwood, AZ is seeking a cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. The shift is 3pm-7pm with starting pay $17 per hour.

The role requires at least a high school diploma and one year of cooking experience in a hospital or long-term care setting, the ability to follow menus and portion controls, and to prepare foods for special diets. ServSafe certification is preferred and required to maintain standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of cook experience in hospital or long-term care.
• Must obtain ServSafe certification.
• Ability to read and follow technical procedures and recipes.
• Willing to supervise in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare meals in large quantities and follow prepared menus.
• Follow portion control guides and prepare diets as needed.
• Record food temperatures and manage sanitation supplies.
• Assist with serving meals and coordinate with other departments.
• Supervise dietary staff in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
