Job summary

Marvin is seeking an Evening Controls Technician at our Kansas City, KS facility to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and PLC systems on production equipment and implement repairs and programming changes to improve reliability.

You will train on the day shift for up to 2 months before transitioning to the evening shift, with a 4:00pm–2:00am schedule and OT on Fridays as needed. The role requires 2 years in a related field and an associate degree is preferred.

Qualifications

2 years experience in a closely related role.
Associate’s degree in a technical-related field preferred.
Must obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses.
Experience with Enterprise Asset Management software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Observe functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards and determine service needs.
Proficiently use ladder logic programming with Allen Bradley RS Logix 500/5000.
Document repairs and preventative maintenance in the plant using the EAM system.
Trace problems using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
Discuss performance issues and improvement ideas with technical staff.
Maintain backups of PLC programs.
Check newly installed equipment under operating conditions.
Set up servo controls and VFD operations.
Troubleshoot servo, DC, and induction motors.
Collaborate with CEPG on machine improvements.
Document set-points and parameters accurately.
