Job summary

UMass Memorial Health Milford is seeking a Lab Support Tech I to greet patients, perform phlebotomy, process specimens, and support the lab team. The role requires evening hours (2:30 pm–11 pm), every third weekend and holiday rotations, and involves computer and phone duties in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Requires High School diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license; phlebotomy training and ASCP or eligibility are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy experience or training preferred; ASCP certification or eligibility is a plus.
• Fluent English communication and computer proficiency are essential.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and direct them to the appropriate area.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures and blood collections.
• Process specimens, label and transport per protocol.
• Use hospital information systems and place test orders.
• Answer calls and provide telephone support as needed.
• Maintain a clean and stocked work area.
