Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy coursework completed.
• Experience in a high-volume outpatient laboratory or inpatient setting preferred.
• CPT certification preferred.
• ASCP certification preferred.
• English language literacy and HIPAA compliance required.

Responsibilities

• Collects and processes patient specimens with accuracy and attention to labeling and timing.
• Performs venipuncture and fingersticks following SOPs.
• Verifies orders, logs specimens, and transports to appropriate lab sections.
• Communicates results to nursing/physician offices as needed.
• Maintains safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance in the lab.
• Operates hospital information systems for data entry and specimen verification.
