Job summary

MedStar Health in Baltimore is seeking a Part Time Phlebotomy Specialty Technician to join our laboratory team. The role requires weekend availability on Saturdays and Sundays from 5am to 1:30pm, with day-shift training initially 5am-1:30pm for 4 weeks.

Responsibilities include performing venous and capillary blood collections, glucose testing, verifying patient information, and accurately labeling specimens while adhering to laboratory policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Hospital approved phlebotomy course, required.
• CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs venous and capillary blood collections and glucose testing.
• Verifies patient information and registers/edits orders in LIS as needed.
• Labels specimens accurately and maintains compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Maintains sanitary work area and supports department goals and training of associates.
