Job summary

Trinity Health Livonia is seeking a phlebotomist to perform venipuncture for outpatients and inpatients, process specimens, and enter orders in EPIC. You will collect accurate demographic and insurance information and support pre-analytic work in the Lab.

The role requires a high school diploma, phlebotomy training, and preferred prior experience; you will work with minimal supervision and may travel to PSC locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous phlebotomy experience preferred or related experience.
• Completion of phlebotomy, medical assistant or patient care technician training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and specimen collection for outpatients and inpatients.
• Processes specimens and supports pre-analytic tasks in the lab.
• Enters orders and demographic/insurance information in the EMR (EPIC).
• Communicates with patients and physician offices in a courteous manner.
• Maintains specimen handling quality and lab area cleanliness.
