Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of phlebotomy, medical assistant or patient care technician training.
• Previous phlebotomy experience preferred if formal training and certification as a phlebotomist is not obtained.

Responsabilités

• Performs venipuncture and other specimen collection using proper patient identification and customer service.
• Handles specimen receipt, processing, and routing within the laboratory information system.
• Registers outpatients in the hospital EMR (EPIC) and determines preliminary patient or insurance payment obligation.
• Maintains workstation cleanliness and ensures adequate supply levels.
