Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensed Pharmacy Technician in Michigan.
• 6 months of experience or completion of a tech-training program or enrollment in a pharmacy program.
• Trained in age-specific categories from neonate to geriatric.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, weighs, measures, and mixes ingredients to prepare medications.
• Replenishes medications in crash carts, EMT boxes, or floor stock.
• Fills bottles and capsules with prescribed medications.
• Prepackages bulk medications in unit-dose packages.
• Delivers prescriptions to nursing stations.
• Data entry of physician orders and patient information.
• Operates Omnicell automated dispensing system for inventory and storage.
• Charges patient accounts for medications as per procedures.
• Prepares IV additives and sterile products using aseptic technique.
