Job summary

Advocate Health, Winston-Salem campus, seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support licensed pharmacists in medication preparation and distribution. You will handle labeling, verification and routine inventory tasks, ensuring compliance with USP standards and safety policies.

Role includes patient data entry, insurance verification, and potential immunization support under supervision. Evening/2nd shift with 8 on/6 off rotation, sign-on eligibility, and on-site responsibilities at Winston Campus.

Responsibilities

• Assists licensed pharmacist in technical duties related to preparation and distribution of medications.
• Selects, prepares and labels medications for patients, including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Assists with medication distribution tasks.
• Screens phone calls and routes as needed using proper telephone and voicemail etiquette.
• Assists in daily pharmacy procurement, inventory control, and outdate checking.
• Completes documentation for removing, stocking, and wasting controlled substances where applicable.
• Performs nonsterile compounding following USP standards; performs sterile IV admixture where applicable.
• Inspects medication storage areas for policy adherence.
