Job summary

Advocate Health, Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center – Surgery Center in Winston Salem, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for evening/2nd shift. The role includes 8 on/6 off rotations with a 1200–2230 schedule at the Winston Campus, and a $6,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities include assisting pharmacists, preparing and labeling medications, handling controlled substances, and contributing to inventory control and patient data entry.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Registration/licensure with state board of pharmacy per state of employment.
• NC Board of Pharmacy registration for pharmacy technician within 30 days of hire.
• Certification through PTCB or ExCPT within 18 months from start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed pharmacist with technical duties for preparation and distribution of medications.
• Select, prepare, and label medications for patients, including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Assist with medication distribution tasks and daily procurement/inventory control.
• Screen calls and route using proper etiquette; document medication admission histories and data entry.
• Perform nonsterile compounding per USP standards and sterile IV admixture where applicable.
• Inspect storage areas for policy compliance and support training of technicians.
