Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II for Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center - Pharmacy in Winston-Salem, NC. This full-time role includes 35 hours per week with a 3rd shift on 7 on/7 off rotation. Eligible candidates may receive a $6,000 sign-on bonus.

Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will handle clerical, distributive, and technical duties to prepare and dispense medications, including sterile IV admixtures where applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPhT or ExCPT certification required.
• North Carolina Board of Pharmacy registration as a pharmacy technician within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists licensed pharmacist in technical duties related to preparation and distribution of medications.
• Selects, prepares, and labels medications for patients including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Assists with medication distribution tasks.
• Screens phone calls and routes as needed.
• Assists in daily pharmacy procurement, inventory control, and outdate checking.
• Performs nonsterile compounding following USP standards where applicable.
• Performs sterile IV admixture where applicable.
• Inspects medication storage areas for proper storage policies.
• Documents medication admission histories as applicable.
• Seeks additional duties when work is done and accepts other duties as assigned.
• May participate in quality improvement initiatives.
