Job summary

Jackson Memorial Hospital - West Wing is seeking a Unit Secretary for per diem evening shifts (3:00 pm - 11:00 pm) in Miami, FL. The role supports department and patient flow by performing front-line customer service, clerical duties, and data entry to ensure accurate medical records and timely communications.

Responsibilities include maintaining medical records, updating bed tracking and unit census, greeting visitors, handling calls, and assisting with transfers and discharges.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• 0–3 years of related experience preferred, hospital setting a plus.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain medical records; label pages and file forms.
• Update bed tracking, census, and unit charges in the computer system.
• Greet visitors; answer calls; relay messages to the appropriate person.
• Assist with discharge/transfer processes and transports as needed.
• Orient new staff and maintain unit cleanliness and equipment.
