Job summary

Great River Health seeks a patient care assistant to provide basic patient care under a licensed nurse. You will care for adults, geriatric and specialty populations, perform bedside shift reports, assist with ADLs, monitor safety, and document activities in the medical record. A CNA certificate is required or obtained within 120 days.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, wound prevention, specimen collection, and patient transport. Weekend/evening shifts and holiday rotations apply.

Qualifications

• Completion of C.N.A. course or currently in progress.
• C.N.A certification within 120 days is required.
• Computer experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Answer call lights and fulfill requests in a timely manner.
• Perform skin assessments and report abnormalities.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Maintain clean patient rooms and change linens as appropriate.
• Collect and label specimens like urine, feces, or sputum.
• Transport patients using wheelchair or stretcher.
• Monitor intake/output and vital signs; report changes.
• Assist with walking, exercising, and transfers.
• Operate office equipment and telemetry systems.
