Job summary

greatriverhealth is seeking a CNA to provide basic patient care under licensed nurse direction. You will support adult, geriatric, telemetry, cardiac, neonatal and psychiatric patients, perform ADLs, assist with transfers, and help ensure patient safety throughout shifts.

Responsibilities include accurate documentation, specimen collection, and coordinating with staff for admissions and discharges. Prior CNA training and computer skills are required or expected within four months of hire.

Qualifications

• Completion of CNA course is required or must complete within four months of hire date.
• Computer experience is required.
• Healthcare experience within the last five years is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer patients' call lights promptly and relay requests to staff.
• Perform skin assessment and report abnormalities to the nurse.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Keep patient rooms clean; change linens as needed.
• Label and collect specimens (urine, feces, sputum).
• Deliver messages, documents, and specimens.
• Assist feeding for patients who cannot feed themselves.
• Monitor patient status and vital signs; report changes.
• Help patients walk, exercise, and move in/out of bed.
• Transport patients to treatment units as needed.
• Turn and reposition patients to prevent bed ulcers.
• Monitor safety devices and alarms; communicate needs to staff.
• Document activities in the medical record timely.
