Job summary

UMass Memorial Health seeks a Patient Care Technician to join the PCA Float Pool on the Evening Shift in Central Massachusetts. This non-exempt role supports nurses and healthcare teams by delivering hands-on patient care and essential tasks.

Under licensed supervision, you will assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and maintain safety and comfort for patients, with a commitment to respectful, compassionate care. Union SHARES and potential signing bonus are noted.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English clearly.
• Good computer skills and basic use of hospital systems.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated problem solving and calmness under stress.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under direction of licensed clinician.
• Assist with daily living activities and comfort measures.
• Monitor vital signs and reports changes to RN.
• Maintain a safe environment and follow safety policies.
• Support healthcare team with non-clinical tasks and procedures.
