Job summary

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of clerical/admin customer service experience.
• 1-2 years of professional customer service in a hospital environment.
• Typing speed 25–30 wpm required.
• Proficient in basic computer software and EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Answer and direct incoming calls; assist patients with registrations.
• Verify forms with patients/guarantors and ensure understanding of signed documents.
• Greet patients professionally and maintain confidentiality with HIPAA compliance.
• Collect and verify health/financial information and enter data into hospital systems.
• Ensure patient records are up-to-date and correctly filed in the EHR.
• Obtain pre-authorizations and verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Explain Medicare and patient rights to patients and family members.
• Scan documents into the hospital system and coordinate with Case Management as needed.
• Assist with light lifting and patient transport as required.
