Job summary

McPherson Hospital Inc. is seeking an Admitting Clerk onsite to support pre-registration, registration and check-in for patients.

The role requires accurate collection of demographic and financial information and friendly, professional interaction with patients, visitors and staff. You will verify patient identities, handle insurance data, explain consents including HIPAA, and enter documents into the electronic medical record.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 1 year clerical experience required.
• In-person position; ability to operate a computer for long periods.
• Customer service-oriented with multi-line phone proficiency.
• Typing speed of at least 100 keystrokes per minute; proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist with registration and admissions processes and provide patient service.
• Identify patients and verify identity, and generate wristbands as needed.
• Explain and obtain signatures for consent forms including HIPAA.
• Enter insurance information and note status in patient account.
• Scan documents into the EMR and provide PBX support as needed.
• Coordinate with departments and assist on the McPherson Center for Health campus.
