Job summary

Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, SC is seeking a Patient Access Representative for the Third Shift. This role handles scheduling, pre-certification, benefit verification and patient registration in the EPIC system to ensure accurate, timely entry.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Healthcare knowledge is preferred.
• Strong customer service experience is essential.
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
• Familiarity with medical terminology ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Ability to build productive internal and external relationships.
• Basic analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage challenging customers professionally.

Responsibilities

• Handle scheduling, pre-certification, benefit verification and pre-certification.
• Conduct patient and guarantor interviews for registration.
• Explain hospital policies and financial responsibilities and obtain required signatures.
• Enter demographic and financial data in EPIC accurately and timely.
• Determine estimated patient financial responsibility and collect self-pay portions as needed.
• Coordinate with physicians and staff to ensure proper patient scheduling and entry into the health system.
• Obtain necessary pre-authorizations to comply with insurer requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
