Job summary

HNL Lab Medicine is seeking a Pathology Gross Room professional to support gross preparation of non-complex surgical specimens and tissue handling. The role requires ability to describe gross findings and ensure proper accessioning in the Laboratory Information System.

The candidate should have an associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology, with relevant clinical training or high-complexity testing experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a laboratory science or MLT; 60 semester hours incl. 24 hours MLT or 24 hours science with chemistry/biology mix; ABHES/NAACLA clinical training or 3 months high-complexity testing training.

Responsibilities

• Assist in gross preparation of non-complex surgical specimens.
• Select and prepare tissue for microscopic examination for permanent sections.
• Describe gross specimens and ensure proper accessioning in LIS.
• Support lead pathologists and pathology manager with special projects.
• Work independently with minimal direction.
