Columbus House is seeking a Resident Support Specialist for Harkness House in New Haven, CT. This part-time, non-exempt role supports residents, supervises daily activities, and collaborates with social services to ensure safety and program integrity.

Shifts include Saturday 5pm-10pm, Sunday 5pm-10pm, and Tuesday 5pm-10pm, with premium holiday pay. Strong organizational and crisis-intervention skills are essential, along with a trauma-informed approach.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to supervise and motivate clients in a residential setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and record-keeping.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of local housing, social services, and entitlement programs.
• Ability to work in a trauma-informed, team-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform hourly rounds and supervise resident activities.
• Maintain safety and ensure house rules compliance.
• Oversee intake, departures, and daily roster.
• Collaborate with external agencies and providers.
• Enter data and complete required reports/logs.
• Provide shift coverage as needed and assist with emergencies.
