Pima Medical Institute in Mesa, AZ is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant Lab Assistant to support morning lab sessions. The role involves setting up clinical scenarios, guiding students through skill checks, and helping instructors with grading and demonstrations.

You will work 8 hours per week on-site at the Mesa campus, collaborating with program instructors to ensure safety, accuracy, and hands-on learning for future healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program recognized by USDE/CHEA and three years of MA experience.
• OR at least four years of job-related training/experience for non-accredited grads.
• Current, unencumbered national certification or registration (e.g., CMA, RMA, or equivalent).
• Current license or certification as required to work as a Medical Assistant in Arizona.
• Strong practical clinical skills; clear verbal and written communication; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic digital tools.

Responsibilities

• Lab Preparation & Instructional Support: set up and execute morning lab scenarios in coordination with program faculty and instructors.
• Hands-on Demonstration: operate medical assistant lab equipment, diagnostic devices, and safety protocols.
• Supply Management: monitor lab inventory and set up lab stations for morning sessions.
• Student Guidance & Grading: assist instructors in evaluating student skill check-offs and grading assignments.
• Record Keeping & Compliance: maintain confidential student records and enforce safety protocols (OSHA, biohazard disposal, infection control).
