Job summary

Arizona College is seeking an Instructor for our Dental Assisting Program at the Mesa, AZ Campus. This part-time role runs Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 1:05pm, with teaching responsibilities in the classroom and lab using varied methods.

Under the Program Director, you will engage students, deliver lectures and demonstrations, assess progress, and support professional and academic growth through advising and coaching.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in the field or related post-secondary instruction preferred.
• Formal education/training in the field of study for which the program prepares students to enter.
• CDA or RDA credential from the Dental Assisting National Board is preferred/required by some programs.
• Knowledge of instructional theory, educational concepts, and lab/workshop practices.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain records and data.

Responsibilities

• Teach three classes per day or evening shift.
• Engage students in a classroom environment using lectures, demonstrations, and audiovisual aids.
• Create a positive educational climate with clear learning objectives.
• Provide guidance during practical portions and teach proper technique.
• Assess student performance, grade work, and maintain grade books.
• Counsel students who are at risk and refer to Academic Advisor as needed.
• Utilize advising and mentoring to support student academic progress.
• Participate in ongoing conferences, seminars, and training sessions.
