Job summary

Atlantis Charter School is seeking a Part-Time Maintenance Worker to support a range of maintenance tasks inside and outside the school building, with most work scheduled in evenings. The role covers multi-craft repairs including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, windows, doors, painting, lawn care and snow removal. Hours are 16-20 per week.

The position reports to the Facilities Director. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; 3-4 years of related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; licensure or certification in related field(s) preferred.
• 3-4 years of related maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work.
• Ability to relate well to others and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Performs minor repairs on buildings and equipment as appropriate and directed.
• Replaces broken windows, repairs doors, door locks, and installs window blinds.
• Completes daily, weekly and monthly checklists on assigned tasks and building equipment.
• Follows preventative maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
• Maintains and references user manuals to troubleshoot equipment and communicates with outside vendors.
• Makes minor electrical repairs or assists in electrical tasks with a licensed electrician.
• Assists with renovation/remodeling; repairs plaster and drywall; paints structures and fixtures.
• Performs outside custodial duties such as snow removal and salting as required.
• Inspects machinery, equipment and sprinkler systems to ensure proper operation.
• Performs basic outside maintenance like grass cutting.
• Assists Custodial during events as needed.
• Constructs and repairs partitions and wooden structures.
• Maintains a clean and safe work area.
• Promotes safe work practices and uses protective equipment.
• Takes precautions to protect students and staff.
• Responds to emergency maintenance requests after hours when assigned.
