Atlantis Charter School in Fall River, MA is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform multi-craft tasks inside and outside the school building. This part-time role (16-20 hours/week) largely occurs during evening hours, reporting to the Facilities Director.
The successful candidate will handle carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC basics, with emphasis on safety, reliability, and teamwork. High school diploma required; 3-4 years of related experience preferred.
We are looking for someone who can help support with various maintenance tasks both inside and outside of the school building. Hours for position are 16-20 hours per week, most work will be scheduled during evening hours.
The Maintenance Worker performs multi-craft work to maintain and repair physical structure of the school buildings. Work may include areas such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical and/or HVAC. Additionally, the Maintenance Worker is committed to Atlantis Charter School Board of Trustees policies regarding equity, human rights and cross cultural understanding and reports to the Facilities Director or his/her designee.

Maintenance Worker
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Licensure or certification in related field(s) preferred.
3-4 years of previous experience working in a related position is preferred.
Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
Ability to multitask and prioritize work.
Ability to relate well to others.
Ability to work independently
Ability to use lawn cutting equipment/tools

An annual performance evaluation of the Maintenance Worker will be conducted by the Facilities Director or their designee.
At will employment. Scheduled start and end times are subject to change during the course of employment on an as needed basis. Hourly rate as negotiated per agreement. The employee assumes responsibility for repair, maintenance and replacement of any tools used in carrying out job duties that are owned by the employee.
Frequent walking, standing, lifting, up to approximately 50 pounds, and occasional lifting of equipment weighing up to approximately 100 pounds may be required. Work is typically performed walking or standing. The work environment also exposes the employee to potentially hazardous substances, such as chemicals in cleaning supplies. Employee is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, noise and hazards, including all types of weather, potentially extreme heat and cold at times. Employee will receive a 30 minute unpaid lunch break as well as one 15 minute ACS paid break. Work schedule is subject to change, including during breaks when school is not in session.
