Holyoke Medical Center is seeking a Mental Health Counselor for the Geriatric Behavioral Health unit. The position is part-time, evenings (3:00pm-11:30pm, EOW EO H), in Holyoke, MA, within Support Services. Responsibilities include care coordination, documentation, and patient safety.

Education levels vary by Counselor level, from HS/GED with 1 year experience to a 4-year degree with extensive behavioral health background. Competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• High School/GED with 1 year behavioral health experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field; 1 year healthcare experience (Counselor II).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Service Field; 4 years direct behavioral health experience (Counselor III).

Responsibilities

• Care for admitted behavioral health patients across three inpatient units.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team to ensure a safe, therapeutic environment; complete required documentation.
• Provide ADL care, obtain vital signs, and facilitate group activities per behavioral health theories.
• Adhere to system and department compliance policies and regulations; perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Four years direct behavioral health experience
