Job summary

Newark Beth Israel Medical Center is seeking an Operating Room Technician to join the Operating Room team in New Jersey. You will assist surgeons and perioperative staff, prepare the OR, maintain sterile technique, and support patient safety and comfort during procedures.

Eligible candidates must complete an accredited OR Technician training program, hold AST certification and BLS certification, and be able to work a full-time evening shift (11pm–7am), 37.5 hours/week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and accredited OR Training program completed.
• Current AST certification and BLS certification required.
• Full-time evening shift (11pm–7am), 37.5 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for procedures; ensure instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are available and functioning.
• Scrub support for surgeons and perioperative team during procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention throughout operations.
• Assist with patient care before, during, and after surgery; support safety and comfort.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia providers, and other perioperative staff to deliver coordinated care.
• Participate in quality improvement and ongoing professional development.
