Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ seeks an Operating Room Technician to join its perioperative team. You will help prepare the operating room, support surgeons and nursing staff during procedures, and help ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires a high school diploma and an accredited OR technician training program, plus AST and BLS certifications.

Competenze

• High school diploma and completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician training program.
• Current AST certification is required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification are required.
• Commitment to patient safety and perioperative standards.
• Willingness to work full-time evening shift (37.5 hours/week).

Mansioni

• Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures and ensure instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are available and functional.
• Assist surgeons, nurses, and other team members with scrub duties across a variety of procedures.
• Anticipate needs of the surgical team to maintain a safe and efficient operative environment.
• Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection prevention practices and organizational policies.
• Handle, organize, and pass surgical instruments and equipment with precision.
• Support direct patient care before, during, and after surgery while prioritizing patient safety and comfort.
• Assist with instrument maintenance and room turnover between cases.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative staff to deliver coordinated care.
• Participate in quality improvement and ongoing professional development.
