Primary Purpose

Manage retail operations for the assigned department, impacting store associates, merchandise quality, presentation, and customer service. Build relations, promote a strong culture aligned with Hannaford Strategy through store huddles, role modeling, and performance tools. Maintain store appearance, security, safety, and food safety at the highest level. Be accountable for company assets.

Responsibilities
  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment for associates and customers.
  • Ensure quality standards are met.
  • Manage department operations per established practices.
  • Maintain department appearance and presentation.
  • Hire, train, and develop staff.
  • Achieve financial objectives.
  • Supervise departmental duties and performance.
  • Model excellent customer service.
  • Delegate and follow up effectively.
  • Keep accurate records of production, shrink, sales, and inventory.
  • Meet physical requirements of the role.
  • Recognize achievements and provide counseling when needed.
  • Treat all colleagues with fairness and respect.
  • Ensure proper training and policy adherence.
  • Develop product knowledge.
  • Utilize RF units and organize product loads.
  • Assist with inventory control to maximize sales and reduce shrink.
  • Conduct performance appraisals.
  • Maintain effective work schedules.
  • Use company tools like MPP, reports, and systems.
  • Follow operational and merchandising standards.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and food safety standards.
  • Understand and resolve shrink issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
  • Operate computers and communication systems.
  • Lift up to 20 lbs. regularly, up to 60 lbs. occasionally; push/pull up to 40 lbs.
  • Meet activity standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Support financial and operational objectives.
  • Foster a sales-driven, customer-focused culture.
  • Manage performance and development of staff.
  • Ensure store presentation and product quality.
  • Support security, safety, and food safety compliance.
  • Maintain confidentiality of store information.

Salary range: $18.95 - $27.25/hr.
