Job summary

The Nursing Operations Manager at Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital in Rocky Mount, VA provides 24-hour operational leadership for nursing units, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and driving staff engagement. This is a full-time, salaried position with evenings 3pm-1am and cross-unit accountability for patient care and throughput.

Responsibilities include budget planning, quality monitoring, and collaboration with other leaders to implement performance initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate of school of professional nursing; BSN required or obtainable within defined timeframe.
• Current RN licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) required; ACLS/PALS may be required based on unit.
• At least 2 years in a clinical nursing role; de-escalation training completed timely.

Responsibilities

• Oversee 24-hour operational leadership for nursing units and ensure alignment with goals.
• Monitor throughput, patient experience, and staff engagement on a daily basis.
• Lead budgeting processes and manage department expenses.
• Coordinate staffing and Interdisciplinary Rounds for efficient patient care.
• Represent Carilion Clinic in meetings and drive performance improvement initiatives.
