UAB Medicine invites applications for a Hospitalist/ACE 2 Unit nurse, located in Highlands 4 North at UAB Hospital-Highlands. The role focuses on directing nursing activities for a shift, delivering high-quality patient care, and collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care.

Requirements include an Associate's degree in Nursing, Alabama RN licensure, and BLS. ACLS is required within six months; PALS or equivalent may be needed based on unit needs.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing with 18 months of related experience required.
• Current license or eligibility to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS certification from the AHA required within six months from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Direct nursing service activities in the assigned care unit for the duration of one shift or in the absence of the Nurse Manager.
• Provide professional nursing care for patients in the unit.
• Support nursing leadership in coordinating patient care, personnel management, physician/interdisciplinary collaboration and administrative duties.
