Job summary

Carilion Clinic is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for the 180 Floyd Ave Rocky Mount location. The role encompasses delivering respiratory care procedures in general and intensive care areas, home care as applicable, and engaging in ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, care plans, collaboration with the care team, and accurate administration of treatments with documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and/or certification required from a CoARC approved school of respiratory therapy.
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner by the VA State Board of Medicine and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Must complete orientation and competency validation; BLS within 3 months; ACLS/NRP/PALS within one year where required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care to achieve optimum outcomes across ages and service areas.
• Collaborate with the health care team to develop and revise age-specific care plans.
• Administer and document treatments and medications; educate patient/family.
• Participate in performance improvement and professional development activities.
• Serve as patient advocate and provide psychological/social support.
