Job summary

Carilion Clinic is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (flex shift) at the Rocky Mount facility. You will provide therapeutic and life-support respiratory care, assess patients across ages, and collaborate with the care team to optimize outcomes.

The role requires VA-licensed RRT, CoARC/BBR certification, and the ability to obtain BLS within 3 months; ACLS/NRP/PALS may be required within a year. A broad commitment to education and patient advocacy is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and/or CoARC approved school/certification.
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner by the VA State Board of Medicine.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC.
• Be able to acquire BLS within 3 months of employment.
• ACLS/NRP/PALS within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory care procedures in general and ICU/discharged settings.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care; document and communicate plans.
• Educate patients and families; participate in performance improvement.
• Act as patient advocate and contribute to interdisciplinary care plans.
