Carilion Clinic is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist for Roanoke Memorial Hospital. The role supports patient care across ages, collaborates with the healthcare team, and ensures accurate documentation of treatments and meds.

Strong emphasis on education, competency validation, and safety. No supervisory duties; potential involvement in departmental projects and staff orientation. Evening/night shifts available in Roanoke, VA.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certification from a CoARC-approved program.
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (VA) required.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by NBRC.
• BLS within 3 months; ACLS/NRP/PALS within 1 year; AARC membership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements patient care to achieve optimum outcomes for patients of all ages.
• Collaborates with the care team to develop and revise age-appropriate plans.
• Administers and documents treatments and medications accurately.
• Identifies and addresses patient/family education needs, integrates into the plan.
• Contributes to performance improvement efforts and competency validation.
• Performs facility-specific support functions including documentation and equipment checks.
• Acts as patient advocate and provides psychosocial support.
• Applies safety practices and prioritizes workflow; communicates with team.
• Orients new employees and may guide students/volunteers.
• Maintains HIPAA-compliant handling of patient information.
