Job summary

Rochester Regional Health in Newark, NJ is seeking a Nursing Shift Supervisor in the Nursing Leadership department. The role provides clinical leadership, mentors staff, and ensures smooth patient flow during off shifts (evenings, nights, weekends, holidays).

You will act as on-site manager after-hours, resolve issues, oversee staffing, and collaborate with other departments to maintain high-quality, safe patient care while upholding regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred; Associate’s Degree in Nursing required.
• Current New York State Registered Nurse License.
• BLS required for hire (and for internal team members by deadline).

Responsibilities

• Provides on-site management during the off shift when leadership is not on site.
• Manages delivery of patient care and addresses issues as they arise.
• Ensures documentation for shift events and regulatory compliance.
• Mentors and coaches staff in clinical and behavioral performance.
• Rounds on patients and families to address concerns and complaints.
• Facilitates collaboration with staff and providers to ensure quality care.
