Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Nursing Shift Supervisor to serve as a nursing leader, providing problem-solving expertise and mentoring during off-shifts.

The role oversees care delivery, staffing, and patient flow in evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, coordinating with the care team. Requires Associate's Degree in Nursing and NY RN license, BLS; salary range $85,000 to $120,000, on-site in Rochester, NY.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
• Current New York State Registered Nurse License; BLS required for all new candidates prior to hire.
• BLS required for all internal team members by 12/31/2014.

Responsibilities

• Provides on-site leadership and oversight during off-shifts in hospital or long-term care settings, managing patient care delivery, staffing, and emergent situations in the absence of onsite management.
• Supports staff through clinical problem-solving, mentoring, coaching, and reinforcing hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
• Rounds on patients with concerns, admitted Emergency Department patients, and actively facilitates patient flow and decision-making in collaboration with the care team.
• Promotes interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure safe, respectful, and culturally sensitive care, while advocating for patient rights and shared decision-making.
• Ensures appropriate documentation and communication of shift occurrences, safety concerns, and staffing adjustments; serves as liaison across departments and with leadership.
• Maintains required education, participates in leadership development, ensures fiscal responsibility, and engages in community and professional healthcare activities.
