Job summary

Alton Memorial Hospital is seeking an MLT/MLS II (Generalist) for the evenings and nights to work in the AMH Main Lab. You will perform routine and complex laboratory testing on blood and other specimens, ensuring accurate, timely results.

New graduates are welcome to apply. Candidates should have ASCP/AMT/AAB eligibility, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot instrumentation in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Physical/Life Science or related field.
• ASCP, AMT, AAB or equivalent certification eligible or certified.

Responsibilities

• Reports and maintains record of patient test results through the laboratory computer system accurately, meeting published turn around times for routine testing.
• Documents patient test management problems/concerns on quality documents and initiates corrective action.
• Performs quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary.
• Operates all instrumentation in assigned areas to deliver precise, timely, and accurate laboratory results. Performs laboratory procedures for specimen collection, processing, test analysis.
• Trains new personnel in methods, procedures and use of equipment and instruments specific to the assigned area.
