Job summary

Missouri Baptist Medical Center is seeking a full-time Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) II to join its laboratory team as a Generalist on the night shift (1830-0700, three 12-hour shifts weekly). This role requires an Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field, and MLT (ASCP), AMT, or equivalent certification is preferred or required.

You will perform testing across multiple disciplines in a fast-paced hospital setting, ensuring quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
• MLT (ASCP), AMT, or equivalent certification preferred/required.
• Ability to perform testing across multiple laboratory disciplines in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Reports and maintains record of patient test results through the laboratory computer system accurately, meeting published turn around times for routine testing and stats.
• Documents patient test management problems/concerns on quality documents and initiates corrective action.
• Performs quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary.
• Operates all instrumentation in assigned areas to deliver precise, timely, and accurate laboratory results. Performs laboratory procedures for specimen collection, processing, test analysis.
• Trains new personnel in methods, procedures and use of equipment and instruments specific to the assigned area.
