Job summary

Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital in Presque Isle, ME, seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to join the Medical Surgical Unit on the evening 24-hour week schedule. Provides direct and indirect patient care under nursing supervision, assisting with activities of daily living and documentation.

Qualifications

• Must hold current Maine CNA registration.
• BLS certification must be obtained prior to caring for patients and kept current.
• 1 year of healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with patients and families, physicians, peers to maximize outcomes.
• Precepts and orients new staff to unit functions.
• Documents all patient care activities in a timely manner.
• Participates in unit quality improvement initiatives.
• Relays information to oncoming staff and RN for follow-up.
• Provides care per the patient’s plan of care.
• Labels and delivers specimens per policy.
• Maintains safe environment per Northern Light Health policies.
