Job summary

Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, ME is seeking a PRN Nursing Support CNA to provide direct and indirect patient care under nursing supervision. You will assist with feeding, bathing, dressing and transporting patients, and you may help with linen changes and transfers, aligned with the patient’s plan of care.

Responsibilities include communicating with patients and families, documenting care, and supporting unit operations while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• CNA certification in Maine is required.
• BLS certification must be obtained before caring for patients and kept current.
• 1 year healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with patients and families to maximize outcomes and unit function.
• Precepts team members to job function.
• Orients patient to hospital environment and routine.
• Documents all aspects of patient care in a timely manner.
• Participates in unit quality improvement initiatives.
• Communicates information to oncoming staff and RN for follow-up.
• Provides care per patient plan of care.
• Label and deliver specimens per policy.
• Maintain a safe environment per policies; address hazards and policy violations.
• May perform other duties upon request.
