Job summary

Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital in Ellsworth, ME is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct and indirect patient care under nursing staff supervision. Duties include helping patients with feeding, bathing, dressing, and mobility, and documenting care activities in the electronic medical record.

The role requires current Maine CNA certification, BLS, and preferably 1 year of healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a CNA in Maine.
• BLS certification to be obtained prior to patient care and kept current.
• 1 year healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with patients and families, physicians, and health care team to support outcomes.
• Precepts team members to job function.
• Orients patient to hospital environment and routine.
• Documents all aspects of patient care in a timely manner.
• Participates in unit quality improvement initiatives.
• Delivers care per the patient’s plan of care.
• Maintains a safe environment and reports hazards.
