Job summary

Edward Elmhurst Health’s EVH Evanston Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) for the Core Lab. The role supports testing across Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, and Coagulation on a 3pm–11:30pm schedule, with e/o weekend and rotating holidays.

Qualified candidates will hold a BS in Biology or Chemistry and MLS (ASCP) certification. Experience is not required but may be considered; compensation features premium pay for shifts and robust benefits.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Biology or Chemistry.
• Certification: MLS (ASCP) or equivalent.
• Experience: Any.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical lab testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation.
• Reviews patient test results and notifies pathologist or supervisor of critical values.
• Maintains QC and instrument checks per department protocols.
• Participates in continuing education, orientation, and safety practices.
